Intake Evaluation

Intake evaluations are an initial assessment conducted to gather  comprehensive information about a patient or client. This evaluation is  crucial for understanding their needs, developing a tailored treatment  plan, and guiding the therapeutic process. It involves gathering details  about their medical history, current health status, and relevant social  or psychological factors. The evaluation helps healthcare  professionals, therapists, and other service providers determine the  appropriate course of action.

Forensic Juvenile Competency Assessments

Evaluating  and documenting a young person's ability to understand legal proceedings and assist in  their own defense within the juvenile justice system. This  evaluation determines if a juvenile is mentally fit to stand trial,  considering their cognitive abilities, understanding of the legal  process, and capacity to communicate with their attorney.

Individual Therapy

One-On-One mental health treatment, including working with a client  to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, fostering self-awareness  and personal growth. It is tailored to the individual's unique needs and  goals, aiming to help them overcome challenges, manage symptoms, and  improve their overall well-being.

Family Therapy

Goals of family therapy are improving the communication, assisting  with unique family circumstances, understanding and handling special  family situations, and helping to create a better functioning home  environment. In addition, it also involves: Exploring the interactional  dynamics of the family and its relationship to psychopathology.

Trauma Informed Care

Care giving approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and understands potential paths for recovery. It involves shifting the focus from "what's wrong with you" to "what happened to you" and then to "what's strong with you". This  approach emphasizes creating safe, supportive environments and  promoting healing and empowerment for individuals who have experienced  trauma.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Psychotherapy that helps individuals manage problems by changing the  way they think and behave. It is a structured, goal-oriented approach  that focuses on current problems and symptoms, aiming to modify negative  or unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is effective for a  wide range of mental health conditions and emotional concerns, as well  as for managing non-psychological issues like insomnia and chronic pain.

Trauma Therapy - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals  process and heal from traumatic experiences. It addresses the  psychological and emotional impact of events like abuse, accidents,  natural disasters, or other significant life-threatening situations.  Trauma therapy aims to reduce symptoms of PTSD (flashbacks, nightmares,  hypervigilance), as well as related issues like depression, anxiety, and  dissociation.  .

Loss & Grief Therapy

Helping individuals cope with and  process loss, particularly the death of a loved one. It can involve  individual or group therapy, and may focus on techniques like CBT  (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or ACT (Acceptance and

Commitment  Therapy). For those experiencing complicated grief, specialized  treatments like Complicated Grief Therapy (CGT) may be beneficial.

Meet Jeni Loudermilk (She, her)

 Jeni Loudermilk/ LMSW

Hi! I'm Jeni, a compassionate and dedicated mental health therapist  committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve  personal growth. My therapeutic approach is rooted in  empowerment-building upon each person's unique strengths to meet their  needs and reach their goals. I have worked in the Mental Health field  for over 10 years in Genesee and Shiawassee Counties. I am passionate  about juvenile justice reform, equality, and human rights.

I  hold a Master of Social Work degree from Michigan State University and  am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. With  over 10 years of clinical mental health experience, I've had the  privilege of working with diverse populations, including children and  adolescents, adjudicated youth, survivors of domestic violence, members  of LGBTQ+ community, new parents experiencing postpartum anxiety and  depression, and older adults adjusting to life circumstances.

My  approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, emphasizing a collaborative and supportive environment where clients can feel safe, seen, and heard. I strive to help individuals build confidence and  competence in understanding themselves for their own mental wellness.
